Baltimore City Nineteenth-Century Photos

It may seem strange that I have included this carte-de-visite photo from a studio in Chemnitz (that's current day Karl-Marx-Stadt in what was previously East Germany). The explanation is that it is the only identified photo in a large red velvet album that contains about fifty family photos, otherwise ALL from Baltimore but unfortunately, ALL unidentified! On the back of the photo, in German script is the name Hermina Aürich (that's supposed to be an umlauted "u" which this font does not show properly). I suspect the name is pronounced Oyrick
